Wood- Fired Sauna and Cold Plunge in Nature

Step away from the everyday, return to nature and reset with heat, cold and stillness.

Visit our Roby Mill sauna and cold plunge site, just five miles from Wigan, tucked into the rural landscape on the edge of West Lancashire.

Siidde is a traditional outdoor wood-fired sauna and cold plunge experience set beside a small lake in the countryside of North West England. Move between the warmth of the sauna, the cold of the plunge and the fresh air outside, taking time to rest between rounds and enjoy the surrounding fields, trees and water. Whether you're looking to de-stress, sleep better, boost recovery, or simply step away from the noise of everyday life, Siidde offers something that's becoming increasingly rare: genuine stillness.

Sauna Session

Step into the warmth of our traditional wood-fired sauna and give yourself time to slow down.

Settle into the heat, breathe and switch off. Stay for as long as feels comfortable, then step outside when you’re ready for some contrast..

Cold Plunge

Step into the cold and everything else has a way of disappearing for a moment.

Take the plunge, use the cool shower, or simply step outside into the fresh air. Take it at your own pace and enjoy the contrast between hot and cold.

The time between hot and cold, is part of the experience too.

Take a seat, let your body settle and enjoy the views across the water, fields and trees. Talk with friends, meet someone new or simply take a few quiet minutes to yourself.

When you’re ready, go again.

Move between heat, cold and rest as many times as feels right during your Siidde session.

No Rush. No Pressure.

Just 50 minutes to step away from the everyday.

Come alone. Bring a friend. Meet someone new.

Warm up. Cool down. Sit for a while. Take in the view. Go again when you're ready.

Siidde sessions combine the ancient practice of contrast therapy, alternating between the deep warmth of a traditional wood-fired sauna and the refreshing contrast of an ice bath, with the restorative power of being in nature. Move between hot and cold at your own pace, or simply enjoy the sauna, cool shower and fresh air.

There’s no pressure to use both, you can come for the heat of the sauna alone or for the benefits of the ice bath.

Between rounds, take a seat and enjoy the surroundings. Slow things down, talk with friends or take some time to yourself before going again.

Settle, relax and look out over the lake. No schedule, no screen, no rush. Just the kind of quiet that stays with you long after you leave.

Why Contrast Therapy?

Contrast therapy is the practice of moving between heat and cold, and it’s one of the reasons many people come to Siidde.

People use sauna and cold-water immersion for many different reasons, from relaxation and recovery to simply enjoying the refreshed, energised feeling that can come after moving between hot and cold.

At Siidde, it isn't about how long you can stay in the sauna or how long you can last in the cold plunge.

There’s nothing to prove.

Listen to your body, take your time and find what feels right for you.

Regular sauna and cold plunge sessions have been shown to:

  • Reduce stress and lower cortisol — helping your nervous system genuinely recover, not just distract itself

  • Improve sleep quality — the post-sauna temperature drop mirrors the body's natural sleep onset process

  • Boost mood and mental clarity — cold immersion triggers a significant release of dopamine and norepinephrine

  • Support immune function and reduce inflammation — both heat and cold have measurable anti-inflammatory effects

  • Build resilience — regular contrast therapy strengthens the nervous system's ability to regulate under pressure
