Heat

Stillness
and a relaxing view
The Experience
Siidde is a peaceful rural space with a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge tanks, set amongst open fields, mature trees with a lakeside view.
No programme. No instructor. No clock on the wall.
Just you, the elements, and enough quiet to actually hear yourself think.
How it Works
There’s no right way to experience Siidde.
Most people find their own rhythm pretty quickly; start with the warmth of the sauna. When you’re ready step outside and cool down naturally with the fresh air, use the cool shower or take a cold plunge.
Sit down, enjoy the views across the water, fields and trees and let your body settle before deciding what comes next.
The Sauna
Our authentic wood-fired sauna provides the ultimate sauna experience; dry, deep, enveloping heat, with sauna stones allowing our hosts to add water to create löyly - the burst of steam and warmth that forms part of the traditional sauna experience.
Settle in, breathe and allow yourself to slow down. Everyone experiences heat differently, so stay for as long as feels comfortable and step outside whenever your body tells you it’s time for a break.
Before entering the cold plunge, we ask guests to shower to keep the water clean and fresh for everyone
Typically, people stay in the sauna for 20 mins, for full effect, but this is entirely guided by yourself.
The Cold Plunge
Stepping into cold water has a way of bringing your attention very quickly to the present moment. Slow your breathing, relax your shoulders and take your time.
There’s no minimum or maximum time to reach. If the cold plunge isn’t for you, use the cool shower or simply step outside into the fresh air after the sauna.
Moving between sauna and cold is commonly known as contrast therapy, but how you experience that contrast is entirely up to you.
Our cold plunge tanks are temperature-controlled using commercial chillers and supported by filtration, circulation and water-treatment systems to maintain clean, cold water.
We operate our water management procedures in accordance with relevant PWTAG guidance.
The Space Between
This is an important part of your Siidde experience too. There are various seating areas around the site where you can relax and take in the ambience of the rural setting.
This is a place to gather and relax between sauna and cold; take in the view of the surrounding fields while you bask in the after-effects of your contrast therapy session.
Stay or rest a while before enjoying another round of heat and cold; you can use the facilities as many times as you want during your session.
The Setting
Siidde sits within open fields in Roby Mill, near Wigan, surrounded by mature trees and features a small lake.
The setting is deliberately simple.
Fresh air. Water. Trees. Open space; it's just a quiet corner of the outdoors, with the things you need and not much else.

Something warm for after your session
This isn't a wellness class. There's no instructor, no session leader, no one performing relaxation at you.
Our hosts are there to welcome you, explain how the site works and help keep your experience safe and comfortable. After that, how you spend your session is up to you.
The experience is self-guided, so there's no schedule to follow and nobody telling you when to move.
It's a small group of people, side by side, doing something simple. Whether you come with friends or arrive solo, the atmosphere tends to take care of itself.
You don't have to push.
You don't have to perform.
You just have to show up.
